The MS-18E Kampfer shows up in the six-part OAV series Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. This Zeon mobile suit was designed to use mostly conventional (non-energy) weapons, in order to devote all of its energy to speed and maneuverability.

I had the idea for a super-deformed Kampfer in mind for a long time, with the firm concept that it’s “Chain Mine” whip would frame the suit as it swirls away behind. While drawing it, I decided to make a black and white version with greytones (VerManga [comic book style]) and the original color (VerAnime). Both were tackled with different lighting sensibilities, as well as the manga version having more ink shading.
